International Drycleaners Congress Fellowship Program

"The mission of the International Drycleaners Congress (IDC) is to strengthen international understanding and good will in the textile care industry by providing opportunities for travel, exchange of information and communication for its worldwide members.”

In pursuit of this mission, Street's is a proud sponsor of the IDC Fellowship Program. The program is designed to strengthen international understanding and goodwill amongst the younger generation of professional cleaners by introducing the next generation of industry members to new ideas, cultures and industry practices through national and international travel and study. IDC grants a $2,000 US stipend to assist the candidate with his or her travel costs. Past applicants have studied in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Qualifications Set By The IDC Board:

  • The candidate needs to be the son or daughter of a member of IDC, or his/her general manager.
  • The candidate needs to be less than 40 years old.
  • The candidate needs to speak English well enough to understand and communicate.

The awarding of the scholarships is solely at the discretion of IDC. All applications are judged on the basis of the above criteria, and the enthusiasm of the candidate for the project


The time commitment is a minimum of 2 weeks. Making an oral report to the delegates of that year's IDC convention is a requirement, and registration for the entire convention is a necessity.
